The Fire Chief is appointed as the Village's Emergency Management Coordinator. The Village complies with federal guidelines for emergency preparedness, including National Incident Management Systems Training and coordination with DuPage County.
DuPage County Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan
On Tuesday, September 3, 2013 the Village Board passed Resolution R-13-11 adopting the 2012 DuPage County Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan (the "Plan").
Adoption of the updated Plan keeps the Village eligible to receive Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Illinois Emergency Management Funding (IEMA) for mitigation natural disaster programs when needed.
The Plan, which is coordinated in a county-wide effort by the DuPage County Office of Homeland Security, identifies ways through which the county, municipalities and townships can reduce the impact of natural disasters on residents, public facilities and businesses. The plan is the same for each municipality. The Community Development Director is the Village's appointed representative on the DuPage County Natural Hazards Mitigation Workgroup. (UPDATED 9/4/2013)
