In July the Village Board awarded the Prospect Avenue resurfacing project to Chicagoland Paving Contractors Inc. of Lake Zurich.  The project’s limits are between Ann Street to the north and Park Avenue to the south (see back map of limits).  The work includes concrete repair and replacement of designated curbs, installation of a new manhole, resurfacing Prospect Avenue and adding decorative crosswalks.  The project will commence the week of August 13th and we anticipate the work to be completed by the end of August.

The work is expected to impact parking in the Business District.  During the curb repairs and replacements, certain parking spots may be unavailable for a period of time to ensure the concrete is safely removed, poured and cured.  Additionally the asphalt grinding and overlay will remove all parking spaces within the project’s limits for up to three days.  Outside of normal construction hours, the Village will work to ensure parking spots, that will not impact construction, will remain open.  The Farmer’s Market will still be held on Thursdays, hosted north of the BNSF train tracks in front of Village Hall.  If you have immediate questions, please call Public Works at (630) 286-4750 between the hours of 7:00 am and 3:30 pm.
