The West Nile Virus within the adult mosquito population has reached the level where transmission of humans is likely. Clarendon Blackhawk Mosquito Abatement District has had multiple positives from the Clarendon Hills trap and surrounding areas.
Spraying the Village for adult mosquitoes is planned to occur Tuesday, August 31st between the hours of 8:00 pm and midnight, weather permitting. If for some reason the application is not made Tuesday, Wednesday will be the back-up day. Zenivex E4 as manufactured by Central Life Sciences is the product which will be used.
Please plan your evening activities accordingly.
Please protect yourself from mosquitos. Some suggested personal protective measures include use of mosquito repellents, wearing long-sleeved shirts and long pants, and limiting outdoor exposure from dusk to dawn. Reducing mosquito breeding sites like standing water around the home, can further decrease the risk for WNV exposure.
