BURLINGTON WATER MAIN – CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Construction on Burlington Avenue continues and we ask that residents avoid driving down Burlington where the construction is occurring.
Mauro Construction has completed all service line connections on Burlington Avenue. They now have started making connections from the new ten-inch water main on Burlington to each of the side streets. These Connections will continue next week and will require a water shutdown on each block while they connect side streets to the new water main. Those blocks include Hiawatha, Iroquois, Mohawk, Arthur, Woodstock, Tuttle, Oxford, and Gilbert. Notices will be given a day in advance to the appropriate residents for when the water will be turned off.
Additionally, crews will be continuing to install a replacement 42-inch storm sewer on Burlington in Blackhawk Heights. Residents are encouraged to use Norfolk as an alternate route during construction. Yes, this gets messy but be assured restoration work is scheduled to start on May 29th.
A separate project to resurface all pavement will occur later this summer. Notice will be provided once that contract is awarded and a schedule is set with the contractor.
Your patience is highly appreciated as this 100-year-old infrastructure is updated. Your avoiding this section of Burlington is also most helpful for the safety of all involved.
