Identity Theft Protection Program
The
Village of Clarendon Hills made changes to the information collected
from residents for water service, as a part of an identity theft
protection program.
Program Intention
This program is intended to protect customers,
employees and the Village from problems associated with or caused by the
loss or misuse of sensitive information which could be used in identity
theft.
New Customers
New customers are required to fill out a revised water service
application and produce government issued identification. In addition,
all water billing accounts will be monitored for "red flags" or activity
that indicates the possible existence of identity theft.
Compliance
The
establishment of the Village's Identity Theft Program and Prevention
Policy is in compliance with the federal Fair and Accurate Credit
Transactions Act of 2003. For additional information regarding this
program, please contact the Finance Department at 630-286-5400.
